Improved Web functionality meets user-friendly package in Lenovo Skylight With a full-size keyboard, 10-inch HD screen and total weight under two pounds, the new Lenovo Skylight looks and feels like a sleek but otherwise typical netbook — that is, until you turn it on. Instead of running conventional laptop software, the ultra-portable device has an always-connected Web-optimized interface that’s comparable in functionality to many smart phones. Harnessing the power of Qual- comm’s Snapdragon chipset platform, the Skylight offers users access to live Web gadgets and applications through either Wi-Fi connectiv- ity or AT&T’s anytime 3G network. Available for purchase in the U.S. beginning in April, this “smartbook” also offers at least one other smart-phone-inspired update: a 10-hour-battery life. CALL IT A PHONEBOOK

The latest in Wi-Fi-enabled SD cards for digital cameras, the
Eye-Fi Pro X2 boasts an impressive 8GB, SDHC-supported
memory, which translates to a storage capacity of 4,000
photos or three hours of video. With built-in 802.11n
performance technology, users can wirelessly upload those
images and videos directly to computer hard drives (or
Web-based photo-sharing and social-networking sites) with
unprecedented speed, all while using less camera battery
power. The Eye-Fi Pro X2 also offers an “endless memory”
function that tracks uploading histories via the Web and
automatically deletes images that have been safely delivered,
starting with the oldest files.
